Start Early Program in Qatar
With the kind sponsorship of HSBC Qatar, Action Care conducted two Start Early Seminars in April for teachers of the Audio Education Complex (AEC)* and the Noor Blind Society in Qatar, a total of 65 students. Mr. Richard Geary, the director of Deaf Reach Schools of FESF in Pakistan, was invited to deliver a section of the seminar on the topic of Deaf Awareness and Deaf Culture for both sessions, which included fifteen Deaf assistant teachers. We would like to thank Mr. Safak Guvenc and the W Hotel in Doha for their partnership, which made this program possible.
*AEC is a newly established school in Qatar for the Deaf and hearing impaired.
The material presented in the Start Early course is structured and organized, and enables the participants to understand the concepts clearly. I like the fact that the course is fun and interactive, unlike other workshops that rely only on theory. Educators and parents need to come to workshops like this.
